Cameron Mayer is a desert enthusiast, writer, and resident of Shoshone, California, who serves as the Program Director for Friends of the Amargosa Basin. Cameron's journey with the Mojave Desert began in 2017 on a class field trip while attending Cal State Long Beach. Deeply involved in desert conservation, Cameron has worked on projects including a master's thesis concerning Western Joshua Tree conservation in the Morongo Basin. He is also the author of "Wildflowers, Shoshone and Tecopa: An Intuitive Guide," combining botany, photography, and poetry to reflect on the natural world.
